PERFORMANCE BRAKE DISCS
Brake discs are responsible for absorbing and dissipating huge amounts of energy every time a vehicle slows down. Diameter, thickness, construction and cooling capability all directly influence how effectively a braking system can cope with repeated use.
Increasing disc diameter can provide greater braking leverage, while a larger or thicker rotor can increase thermal capacity. However, bigger is not automatically better. The disc needs to work correctly with the caliper, pads, hub and vehicle rather than simply filling as much of the wheel as possible.
Diameter, thickness, offset, centre bore, PCD and friction surface all matter. With an OEM-derived big brake conversion these dimensions become even more important because the caliper and disc may originally have been designed for completely different vehicles.
SF-Tuning supplies replacement and performance discs covering standard applications alongside many of the larger brake conversions we have developed. Whether you're refreshing an existing conversion or putting together a new braking package, choosing the correct rotor allows the entire system to work as intended.
